Laboratory Chamber Furnaces (750oC-1200oC)

A robust range of laboratory furnaces, providing an excellent level of versatility without compromising quality, safety or reliability. All units in this range have a continuous operating temperature of 1200°C. Heating is provided by two side-wall free radiating elements manufactured from original Swedish Kanthal high temperature resistance wire spirals supported on recrystallized Alumina tubes for optimum uniformity. Free radiating elements provide option of fast heating the furnace up to 20oC/min.

The special swivel type door opens outwards keeping the hot face insulation away from the operator. All units use vacuum formed fiber board low thermal mass insulation for fast, accurate heating and cooling. The use of double skin construction allows natural air convection to maintain a cool outer case. An exhaust chimney is fitted on optional basis.

Furnace entrance door is made from hard wearing Alumina bricks to handle wear over long life. Modular design with easy access to elements & controls simplifies maintenance & servicing.

Optional Extras

Metal retorts – A variety of metal retorts are available for use with this range of furnaces.

This type of retort is generally used to cater for the following process conditions:

      a.  To maintain controlled atmospheres within the heated chamber;

      b.  To protect the heating elements and insulation from chemical attack by aggressive   volatiles given off by fluxes, acids, etc.

Four sided heating – This option upgrades the standard two sided heating to four sided heating and is recommended in the following circumstances:

       a.  For use with metal retorts and ceramic liners;

       b. To improve chamber temperature uniformity to meet specific process requirements;

       c.  To up rate the furnace power to cope with large loads.

R-Type thermocouple – This option upgrades the standard K Type (mineral insulated inside Inconel sheath) thermocouple to R-Type thermocouple and is recommended if furnace is going to be used continuously at 1200oC.

Over-temperature protection – This option is recommended to protect valuable contents & for unattended operation.

Data logging and remote controlled controllers –  A range of sophisticated digital controllers, multi-segment programmers and data loggers is available. These can be fitted with RS232 and RS485.

Economy Chamber Furnace (750oC – 1150oC)

An economical, rapid heating and lightweight furnace Incorporating a single body furnace design with low thermal mass insulation for general laboratory purpose.

The control panel is separate from furnace body. With hinge type door, hard wear resistant Alumina brick door entrance and original Swedish Kanthal heating elements these furnaces provide excellent combination of technology, economy and    performance. All units come equipped with standard SSR and profile controller.

If your process generates significant amounts of corrosive fumes, please discuss your application with our sales department.

High Temperature Chamber Furnaces (1200oC-1600oC)

A range of advanced high temperature general purpose chamber furnaces for use in both laboratory and light production applications.

Furnace 1200oC – 1400oC

These models have continuous operating temperatures of 1350°C and 1400°C. These furnaces are made from low thermal mass ceramic fibre insulation and silicon carbide elements, which   radiate heat directly onto the workpiece, provide rapid heating and cooling and low running costs. Recrystallized / Reaction bonded SiC elements at optimum surface loading arranged in series parallel arrangement ensure long working life and are able to withstand the stresses of intermittent operation.

The swivel type door opens outwards keeping the hot face insulation away from the operator. The furnace door entrance is made from wear resistant Alumina bricks to enhance performance. The use of double skin construction allows natural air convection to maintain a cool outer case for maximum operating safety and comfort at highest temperatures of operation.

These units are fired using specially developed power supplies to take care of varying resistance of SiC. elements with time and temperature of operation.  Over temperature protection is available as optional.

Furnace 1400oC – 1600oC

These models have continuous operating temperatures of    1500°C and 1600°C. These furnaces are made using advanced refractory interior, used in combination with energy efficient low thermal mass insulation and molybdenum disilicide elements, which radiate heat directly onto the workpiece
